Downed Utility Pole Leads To Temporary Road Closure In Darien
One of the roads in front of Tokeneke Elementary School is closed Thursday morning.

DARIEN, CT — Old Farm Road is closed in front of Tokeneke Elementary School Thursday morning due to a downed tree that snapped a utility pole, according to Darien police. The downed pole spread wires across the road.
Tokeneke Elementary School can only be accessed from Driftway Lane and the south end of Old Farm Road.
Eversource crews are working on the situation and estimate that repairs could take up to 8 hours, according to police.

"The Police Department and Board of Education have coordinated to facilitate the safe flow of bus traffic and student drop off," Darien police said in a statement. "Please allow extra time to travel to and from that area."
