Halstead Participates In Weed Beach Fest
Halstead sponsored 'Backpacks on the Beach' drive to help children in the area with school supplies for the upcoming school year.

From Halstead: It was a fun-filled day at the first ever Weed Beach Fest, which took place on June 17th and featured live bands, games, food and craft vendors. The event also included a “Backpacks on the Beach” drive , an initiative run by OPUS for Person-to- Person and sponsored by Halstead of Darien. A total of 60 new backpacks were donated, and Halstead filled each one with essential school supplies to be given to kids in need in the Stamford area for the coming school year. Rebecca Morrison, one of this years OPUS Co-Presidents said, “We couldn’t have been more thrilled to partner with Halstead to help school children in our area. This event also was successful as it allowed our own children to see what giving means and that children in close proximity to their own homes require assistance.”
“The event was a lot of fun, and OPUS and Halstead made it very easy for people to go online and order backpacks ahead of time to donate,” said Halstead agent Jill Keating Brannigan, who along with agent Caroline Hanley represented Halstead among the volunteers at the event. “It’s a great cause, to get school supplies to kids in need.”
Halstead has been a longtime sponsor of OPUS. Founded in 1996, OPUS is an organization dedicated to supporting Person-to- Person in their mission to provide more than 24,000 people in lower Fairfield County with food, clothing, emergency assistance and scholarship programs.
