Next Nor'easter Could Bring 'Heavy Snow' to Southern Connecticut

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and says a nor'easter might bring "heavy snow" to the area next week.

The National Weather Service on Saturday morning issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for all of Southern Connecticut in advance of a potential 4th nor'easter, which if it happens, would impact the region Wednesday and Thursday. No advisory has been issued for northern Connecticut as of yet.

Does any of this mean we will or won't see significant impacts from this potential nor'easter? No. It's still very clear from the National Weather Service and Connecticut's top meteorologists that it is still not possible to predict what might happen.

You might be wondering, then what is the point in sharing any of this if nothing is known yet. The reason this potential storm is being discussed so much is because it has the potential to bring "heavy snow" and "strong winds" to at least parts of Connecticut and it would also be the fourth nor'easter in the past few weeks.

In its Hazardous Weather Outlook for Southern Connecticut, the weather service says, "A coastal storm next week could potentially produce strong winds, heavy snow, and coastal flooding Tuesday through Wednesday night. The levels of impact and timing remain highly uncertain."

As for this weekend, it will be cold. "Winds will be brisk today and Sunday, but should not be as strong as those that occurred on Friday. Temperatures today will be only a couple of degrees shy of average, then should turn a few degrees colder Sunday and Monday," the weather service says.
