How Hot Will It Get In Connecticut This Weekend

The National Weather Service warns that the heat index for parts of Connecticut could hit triple digits.

HARTFORD, CT — The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Connecticut coast and an Excessive Heat Watch for the rest of the state as heat indexes are expected to hit the triple digits.

The heat index inland will reach from the upper 90s to 106 degrees due to temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and dewpoints in the 60s and lower 70s. The heat wave is expected to stick around throughout next week, but temperatures won't be as extreme as this weekend.

Connecticut will hit peak heat Sunday and Monday afternoons. The National Weather Service warns that such extreme temperatures could cause illness, especially in vulnerable populations.
