Jimmy's Southside Tavern Closes In Darien

The closure primarily is due to the planned redevelopment of the Noroton Heights Shopping Center.

DARIEN, CT — After eight years on Heights Road in Darien, Jimmy's Southside Tavern is closing, effective Monday, March 16, the restaurant's owners announced on Facebook.

The closure primarily is due to the planned redevelopment of the Noroton Heights Shopping Center. Jimmy's was the last establishment still open in the complex, according to the Darien Times.

On Monday, Gov. Ned Lamont also ordered all bars and restaurants to close in Connecticut due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns, and only offer delivery or take-out options for customers.
