Make Mother’s Day Brunch, Dinner Reservations Now Near Darien

DARIEN, CT — Everything Mom has done over the past year of the coronavirus pandemic should add up to an extra-special 2021 Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday, May 9. To start her the day off right, how about taking Mom to her favorite Darien brunch spot?

Many restaurants and eateries are still limiting seating, so making a reservation early is especially important this year. And if you’re still undecided about going to a sit-down restaurant, curbside pickup or delivery is an option in many places.

Some hometown restaurants in or around Darien that are always good bets to pamper Mom include:

• The Melting Pot, 14 Grove St.
• Le Pain Quotidien, 81 Elm St. in New Canaan
• The Capital Grille, 230 Tresser Blvd. in Stamford

But again, call ahead for reservations; some of your local favorites may be closed on Mother’s Day so the moms who work there can have a day off with their families.

Many restaurants offer prix fixe menus, signature cocktails, decadent desserts and five-star service.

Here are a few more suggestions to get you started:

Yard House, located in The SoNo Collection in South Norwalk, offers a three-course Mother’s Day family takeout meal. You can also add a mimosa or bellini kit as an option. The prix fixe menu that includes one shared salad, one entree for each person, a choice of two sides, and a shareable dessert.

Outback Steakhouse, located in Wilton and Shelton, offers either a Filet & Lobster Tail or a Prime Rib and Crab Cake Dinner for mom, from May 6 to May 12. A Lobster Tail or crab cake can be added to any meal for an extra cost.

Olive Garden, located in Danbury and Orange, offers family-style takeout meals for five that include ready-to-bake entrees and breadsticks with homemade alfredo or marinara dipping sauce, and a large house solid with the signature Italian dressing.
