Man Charged With DUI After Darien Crash Investigation
The one-car crash occurred on Aug. 5 of this year.

DARIEN, CT — A 32-year-old Milford man was arrested on a warrant by Darien police last week charging him with driving under the influence in connection with a one-car crash in August of this year, according to authorities.
Daniel J. Buckley, of Salem Walk, additionally was charged with making an improper turn in connection with the Aug. 5 crash in which he was treated in an area hospital for minor injuries.
The crash occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on Hollow Tree Ridge Road near Wee Burn Lane in Darien, according to police.

"Upon arrival officers discovered a 2017 Ford Mustang had struck roadway signs and then collided with a stone wall," wrote Darien police in a statement. "The operator, Daniel Buckley, told officers that something entered the roadway and caused him to swerve and his vehicle struck the wall. Buckley admitted to having consumed alcohol and displayed signs of intoxication."
Police obtained a search warrant for Buckley's medical records, which police said "indicated that Buckley's Blood Alcohol Content was .08 at [3:21 a.m.] on August 5, 2019, and .07 at [4:08 a.m.] on August 5, 2019."

After learning of the BAC results, Darien police obtained an arrest warrant for Buckley, and he surrendered to police on Oct. 10.
He was released after posting a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Oct. 21.
