Hundreds Still Without Power In Darien Monday Evening: Update
Sunday's storm knocked down trees and wires throughout town.

DARIEN, CT — More than 700 Eversource customers in Darien were without power Monday evening, after Sunday night's storm knocked down trees and wires throughout town, according to officials.
The outage affected more than 8 percent of Eversource's 8,100 customers in Darien as of 6:30 p.m. During parts of the day, more than 1,300 were without power in town.
Statewide, more than 24,000 Eversources customers were without power for parts of Monday due to the storm.

Darien Public Schools were closed Monday, and remote learning also was canceled, due to the outages and the damage around town caused by the storm.
Darien police said more than 30 roads in town were totally or partially blocked as a result of the storm during parts of Monday, and residents were urged to use caution when traveling around town.
