NCCS Squash Competes in Middle School Nationals

New Canaan Country School student-athletes performed well at New Haven event.

New Canaan Country School squash players competed in the 2020 U.S. Middle School Squash Championships at Yale University in New Haven Jan. 31 - Feb. 2. Team A Won the Classic Plate Division following a hard-fought loss in the quarterfinals, while Team B showed grit and determination against strong opponents.

“Our players, many of whom were playing in their first tournament of their careers, were excellent competitors throughout the tournament. We were so impressed with their composure and resilience, and how they represented NCCS Squash," said Director of Athletics Keri Kern.

Student-athletes who participated included from left to right: Trip Hurley, Henry Naylor, Sebastian Kelsey, Ben Byrne, Connor McNamara, Oliver Golden, Daniel Marin, Sydney Young and Ellie Israelov. Not pictured: Parker Hanson who could not play due to illness.

New Canaan Country School is a co-ed, independent day school for students in Pre-K (ages 3 & 4) through Grade 9.
