Road Work Wednesday Closes Lane on I-95 in Darien and Other Highways in the Area

Road work is closing lanes on Interstate 95, the Merritt Parkway and U.S. Route 7.

The left lane is closed on the southbound-traffic side of Interstate 95 between Exits 10 and 13 for road work, the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced late Wednesday morning.

The lane may be closed for some part of the 1.8-mile stretch of road as late as 3:05 p.m. (Tuesday’s road work along part of the same stretch of road was done earlier than the announced 3 p.m. completion.) The reason for the road work was not given.

These other highway lane closures in the area were announced by the department Wednesday morning:

  • Norwalk — Road work will close the right lane on the northbound-traffic side of U.S. Rt. 7 between Exits 1 and 2 (on Tuesday there was road work between Interstate 95 and Exit 1). The work on that 0.8-mile stretch of highway is expected to be complete by 2:30 p.m.
  • Stamford — The northbound-traffic side of the Merritt Parkway (U.S. Rt. 15) is congested between Exits 31 and 33 because of road work between Exits 31 and 33 (a 3.2-mile section). The work isn’t expected to end until 2:30 p.m.
