CT Weather: Strong to Severe Thunderstorms Possible Tuesday
A top CT meteorologist says we may be dealing with some thunderstorm "drama" in our upcoming forecast. Here are the new details.

You can think of today, Monday, being the calm before the storm arrives on Tuesday. On Tuesday, there is a good chance for thunderstorms, some possibly strong to severe, which will produce downpours and strong wind gusts. On top of the severe weather chance, we'll be dealing with very hot and humid conditions as it will feel like 90 plus degrees on Monday and Tuesday.
"Hot and very humid conditions are on tap today as a Bermuda high pressure type system remains off the East Coast. Highs will reach the upper 80s to lower 90s for much of the area. Combined with the humidity, it will feel like the middle to upper 90s...," the National Weather Service says. "...a passing shower or thunderstorms is possible anywhere in the tri-state."
On Tuesday it will feel like 90 degrees due to the heat and humidity and "an approaching cold front will bring better chances for showers and thunderstorms to the entire area, continuing into Tuesday night. Heavy rain will be associated with the thunderstorms, along with strong to possibly damaging winds for a few of the strongest storms."

For Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued and the weather service says, "Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall may result in a localized flash flood threat for urban areas and small streams. A few strong thunderstorms with strong wind gusts are also possible."

Tuesday looks to be the best chance for widespread showers and storms, especially during the evening. Some towns could pick up 1" of rain or more. #NBCCT @nbcconnecticut https://t.co/wVvfksTfOB pic.twitter.com/AgAzpOsiwH
