CT Weather: Stormy Weather Returns Wednesday, Thursday
We've been hearing about how bad the weather would be this week, well it arrives today and tomorrow. Here are the newest updates.

Thankfully, the severe weather that was forecast for much of this week hasn't really panned out and the weather has been decent albeit very humid thus far. However, today actually looks stormy with heavy downpours possible today and tonight and a chance for thunderstorms, especially in Northern Connecticut.
Another inch or two of rain is expected through Thursday. Connecticut was nearing drought conditions a week ago but the abundance of rain since has taken care of that. And there is good news for the weekend as we dry out and the sun returns Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
Here is the following National Weather Service statement for Southern Connecticut:

"A cold front slowly approaches the region today into tonight with showers overspreading the region with the region staying in a humid airmass. Heavy downpours will be possible at times with these rain showers. Maximum temperatures will be kept noticeably cooler today with highs only reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s for most locations. Lows tonight drop to just the lower 70s for most locations.
Rain showers become less numerous Thursday with the front stalling out and weakening before tapering off Thursday night. Another cold front will make its approach for Friday into the first half of the weekend. Chances of showers will return with possible thunderstorms as well.

In case anyone has been wondering why the showers won't go away, here's a quick and dirty explanation. Big blocking high to the east - trapped low pressure to the west. Tropical moisture streams northward between the two systems and keeps us soupy and wet. pic.twitter.com/IVQEEAYjsT
