Tree Removal To Close Leroy Avenue In Darien Dec. 10: Police

The tree being removed is compromising the integrity of the railroad bridge, according to officials.

DARIEN, CT — A tree removal project on Tuesday, Dec. 10, will result in the closure of a portion of Leroy Avenue in Darien between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to police.

The temporary closure will be in the area of the railroad underpass.

"The tree being removed is compromising the integrity of the railroad bridge and due to it posing a safety hazard to vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Leroy Avenue, the road will be closed during the process," police said.

Members of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Police Department will be on hand to close the roadway and to let emergency and school bus traffic through the site.
