Wheelchair Valued at $2,500 Stolen from Darien Woman
The woman left the wheelchair out overnight at Avalon Darien when a malfunction prevented it from going in her vehicle.

A 38-year-old Darien woman at Avalon Darien who uses a wheelchair wasn’t able to stow it in her vehicle because of a malfunction in the vehcile, so she left it by the curb near her parking spot, she told police.
That was at 4 p.m. on Friday. When she returned to the spot at 8 a.m., Saturday, the wheelchair was gone. It’s a Sunrise Medical Quickie model valued at $2,500.
She doesn’t know who would take it, she told police, who are investigating the incident. Police are looking into whether or not there’s a video surveillance record that may provide information.
