Connecticut Weather: Winter Storm Watch Issued For Saturday
The National Weather Service has just issued a Winter Storm Watch for Connecticut and updated snow accumulation estimates.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the entire state as a fast-moving snowstorm will move into Connecticut Saturday night producing heavy snow at times and there is a good chance that six inches of snow or more will be on the ground by Sunday morning.
In a Friday morning update, the National Weather Service for Southern Connecticut says, "* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.
For Hartford and Tolland counties, the weather service says,"*WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are possible. Snow amounts are still uncertain and will be dependent on track and if any rain mixes in near the south coast. * WHEN...From Saturday evening through early Sunday morning. Heaviest snow expected from 10 pm Saturday evening through 5 am Sunday morning. Rapidly improving conditions later Sunday morning as temperatures quickly rise above freezing."

In Litchfield County, six inches of snow is expected, the weather service says. Connecticut could see snowfall rates of one inch per hour at times.
