YWCA Darien/Norwalk Parent Awareness Event - The Power of Play

Presented in Partnership with the Stepping Stones Museum for Children

YWCA Darien/Norwalk Parent Awareness is excited to partner with the Stepping Stones Museum for Children for an upcoming “Ask A Professional” event. The event, “The Power of Play: Building Healthy Brains” presented by Dr. Carol Weitzman, Professor at the Yale School of Medicine, will be held on Thursday, January 16th at 5:30 pm at Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk. Free childcare will be available for children 18 months or older.

This talk will present information about early brain development and the critical role that early relationships play. We will also briefly focus on potential threats to early childhood development. Parents will learn the importance of responsive parenting and we will brainstorm ways to enhance intentional, child-focused parent-child interactions.

YWCA Darien/Norwalk Parent Awareness, which has been at the YWCA for 20 years now, “Is a series of programs and partnerships to educate parents in the community about various topics,” said Judy Phillips, President & CEO. “Our goal is to help families raise healthy children.”
