ESSEX, CT — Spectrum Art Gallery and Artisans Store of Centerbrook opens its newest exhibit "Splashes, Drips and Drops," on Friday, July 16 from 12-6 p.m. and will be celebrating throughout its opening weekend, Saturday, July 17 (12-6pm) and Sunday, July 18 (12-5pm). The exhibit, which runs through September 5, is located at 61 Main St., Centerbrook and includes wine and safely bagged snacks for the Opening Weekend.
Discover new and original artworks that explore the creativity and spontaneity of liquids…and not just water! There are many new fine artists and artisans participating in this 7-week Summer Spectrum exhibit including those from Connecticut and throughout the tri-state area and New England. Artists have created a wide-range of work – in both realistic and abstract forms – to depict and explore this powerful state of matter – liquids! From landscapes to seascapes to other subject matter and in a range of mediums as diverse as oil, acrylic, egg tempera, inks, pencil, wax, mixed media, photography, and more. There are also new one-of-a-kind store pieces to browse and take home in basketry, glass, paper, fabric and jewelry design.
