Assistant Superintendent Position In Region 4 Schools

ESSEX, CHESTER, DEEP RIVER, CT — The search for the new Assistant Superintendent in Region 4 is underway.

Former Region 4 Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Kristina Martineau left the position on December 1, 2020 to take the position of Superintendent of Schools for the town of Westbrook. She had served as Assistant Superintendent of Schools for Region 4 for six years.

Since Martineau’s departure, the Region 4 School system has been devising a plan to hire her replacement. The position was posted on January 5th with a closing date of February 1st.

According to correspondence with Region 4 Superintendent Brian White, initial screenings have been completed and interviews for the position will be held over the next two weeks. Stakeholders from the Boards of Education, faculty, and administration have been engaged to participate in the process. It is anticipated that an appointment will be made by the Supervision District Committee at a special meeting to be scheduled for March 1st.

The start date for the new Assistant Superintendent is scheduled to be July 1, 2021.
