Attempted Car Theft In Chester Ended With A Shot Fired

Two armed individuals were attempting to steal a vehicle in Chester early Sunday morning.

CHESTER, CT — An attempted car theft resulted in a gunshot fired early Sunday morning in Chester. Residents take note!

According to information gathered from various resident Facebook pages, as well as, information from the town of Chester Facebook page, a frightening incident on Goose Hill Road took place at 4:09 a.m. Sunday morning.

The town of Chester Facebook page reads, "A resident was surprised in his driveway by two armed individuals who demanded money and potentially were attempting to steal a vehicle. Shots were fired by the intruders as they fled the scene - no one was injured but the homeowner was understandably shaken. Our constables were on scene along with state police and canines and the investigation has been assigned to the CSP major crimes unit. Similar incidents were reported this morning in both Tylerville and Westbrook that could involve the same offenders. Evidence was gathered at the scene and the incident is being aggressively investigated. We are grateful that the homeowners are safe."
