Updates to Chester Creek.

CHESTER, CT — Chester Harbor Management Commission Update

Chester Creek has new additions- “No Wake Zone” signs. Boaters are greeted with the new signage entering and navigating northeast through the creek. Over the past year it became very evident that not all boaters are aware of navigational rules and the importance of maintaining a safe speed to protect both the boat and small craft operator and the boats docked along the creek and within the marinas.

No wake speed is Six-Miles-Per-Hour” and “Steerage Speed” and per state statue violators are subject to fines up to $120.00 per violation. Chester Creek and the Connecticut River are patrolled by several law enforcement agencies that enforce Connecticut state statues, regulations and federal navigational laws. They are the Coast Guard, state conservation police, and municipal police.
