During a news conference on Thursday, Gov. Ned Lamont declared an "interim victory" over the pandemic with critical infection rates the lowest they have been in the state in approximately eight months.
The hope is to keep the Covid-19 positive cases down and vaccination numbers high. According to an article written by Patch Staffer Rich Kirby, Connecticut is currently third in the nation, behind Vermont and Massachusetts, in total doses of the vaccine administered per 100,000 residents. The state has delivered just under 4 million jabs as of Thursday, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
