Deep River Among the 105 Towns In CT In The Red Covid-19 Zone

Towns are in the red zone when average daily cases exceed 15 per 100,000 over a two-week average. There are now 105 of 169 red towns in CT.

ESSEX, CHESTER, DEEP RIVER, CT — The town of Deep River is among the 105 towns out of the state's 169 towns that is in the red zone when it comes to Covid-19 positive cases.

Towns fall into the red zone when average daily cases exceed 15 per 100,000 population over a two-week average. Chester is in the orange zone (10-14, per 100,000) and Essex is in the yellow zone (5-9, per 100,000).

Capacity limits at Connecticut restaurants and other businesses ended Friday as a new reopening phase kicked off. Masks are still required at all businesses and spacing and cleaning protocols are also still in effect.

Gov. Ned Lamont said the key metric for re-openings is hospital capacity, which remained sufficient this week.
