Consulting Assistance in Preparing a National Register of Historic Places Nomination

The Town of Essex, Connecticut, is seeking letters of interest and statements of qualifications for consultant services to prepare a National Register Nomination for Essex Village. The project is funded by grant funds from the Community Investment Act as administered by the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) of the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (the Department). Work must be done in accordance with SHPO standards. Consultants must meet the professional qualification standards for architectural historian of the National Park Service, Professional Minimum Qualification Standards 36 CFR 61 (attached.)

The consultant shall be experienced in project management, the requirements of the National Register program, and American history and architectural history. The ideal candidate will have successfully prepared and submitted a National Register Nomination for another Connecticut town.

The Town is accepting letters of interest and statements of qualification through July 16, 2021.
