New Assistant Superintendent For Region 4 School Appointed

Dr. Sarah Brzozowy has been appointed the new Assistant Superintendent of Region 4 Schools.

Essex, Chester, Deep River, CT — The search for a new Assistant Superintendent for Region 4 Schools is over. On March 1, the Supervision District Board of Education approved the appointment of Dr. Sarah Brzozowy to the position with a starting date of July 1, 2021.

Former Assistant Superintendent of Region 4 Schools, Kristina Martineau, left the position in December of 2020, after six years, to become the Superintendent of Schools for the town of Westbrook. Since her departure, Region 4 has been looking for a qualified applicant to fill the position.

Dr. Brzozowy has over 15 years of experience in education, including seven years as a classroom teacher and two years as an Educational Consultant at the State Education Resource Center (SERC). For the past six years, she has served as the Chief Performance Officer / Data Analyst and School Improvement Specialist in East Hartford Public Schools.

“Dr. Brzozowy’s credentials and experience will be of great benefit to our central office, schools and the community as she collaborates with others to move the teaching and learning work of our schools forward," said Superintendent of School Brian White in a prepared statement. "I am confident that she will be an excellent contributing member to our leadership team, as well as, the broader communities we serve."
