Bond Reinforced In Farmington Car Theft Case
Farmington police have made an arrest in a car theft case.

FARMINGTON, CT — A judge tacked on an extra $15,000 to a defendant's bond in a Farmington car theft case to close out 2020.
Keny Ortiz, 18, of New Britain, was taken into custody on Dec. 28 via a warrant, according to a police report. Ortiz was charged with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny in the first degree, according to a report.
Police said the arrest was related to his "involvement" in a series of car thefts in town, according to a report.

Ortiz was arraigned in court later that day and his initial $25,000 bon was increased to $40,000, judicial system records indicate. He made bail and is due back in court on Feb. 17, court records show.
