Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • Eastern Connecticut State University student-athlete Connor Hillemeir of Unionville received the Little East Conference (LEC) men's lacrosse rookie-of-the-week award for the week ending March 18. This is the second LEC award he has received this season. Hillemeir majors in Business Administration. The freshman leads the LEC in faceoff percentage at 72.5 percent (minimum of 50 attempts), collecting 37 of his 51 attempts. He also ranks second in the conference in ground balls with 32 scooped.

Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven CT

  • Eight members of the Southern Connecticut State University gymnastics team were selected to the ECAC All-Academic Team for their efforts in the classroom, including Brianna Rovella of Farmington. In order to be eligible for the ECAC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher.

Union College, Schenectady NY

  • Sophie Borg, of Farmington, is traveling during spring term on a Union College term abroad. Borg, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Psychology, is traveling to London, England, studying a variety of topics including global marketing, government, childhood development and more.
