The single most pressing issue facing our state is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it: Unfavorable Business climate. I would like to see less burdensome mandates on small and medium businesses that make the state less competitive in many areas of business. I believe the free market is better regulation as consumers have a very powerful voice with social media more so than ever before.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? I will be looking at issues with a different perspective. My opponent has been in in the legislature before and I feel has not fixed enough of our issues,
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job? I have created multiple businesses where I saw a need for improvement. As an engineer I have a unique way of approaching problems to find solutions that are in the best interest of entire population just not one party or one group of individuals.
Do you believe Connecticut needs reform when it comes to electric utility oversight? What steps, if any should be taken? Yes, Pura needs to be restructured and not under control of DEEP. We need to be able to tell investors of the utilities profits are not "guaranteed" as that is how the power companies currently appear to operate.
What steps should state government take to bolster economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic for local businesses? Less regulations, Less restrictions. Have a plan based on metrics and thresholds so business can invest as needed by following along with the metrics and hold officials accountable. There is too much "feeling it not appropriate to open" being said by current governor. We also need to find a way to lessen out tax burden to help start business.
