FARMINGTON, CT — A traffic stop for a cell phone violation led to drug and brawling charges against a Farmington man, an arrest report indicates.

The incident took place at 8:51 a.m. along with 1600 block of Farmington Avenue, according to an arrest report.

David Jonathan Olivo, 40, of the Unionville section of Farmington, was pulled over for a cell phone violation, an arrest report indicates.

He wound up with several charges:

Assault on a public safety officer (2 counts)

  • Driving an unregistered vehicle
  • The use of drug paraphernalia
  • Evidence tampering
  • Using a hand-held device
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of less than a half-ounce of cannabis
  • Driving without minimum insurance

His bond was set at $150,000, according to an arrest report.
