CT's First Baby of 2016 Born in Farmington

Nimson Carr was born just two minutes after the clock struck 12.

Connecticut’s first baby of 2016 was born at UConn Health Center in Farmington.

Baby boy Nimson Carr was born to Sarah Millard and Alexander Carr, of Bristol at 12:02 a.m. weighing six pounds and 1.2 ounces.

Carr was in labor for around 20 hours, WFSB reports. “I’ve waited so long to meet him, and we had another two weeks but he wanted to come when he wanted to come,” Carr told WFSB.

Many other parents welcomed babies on New Year’s Day.

Lillian and Iliya Yerukhimovich, of Manchester welcomed Baby girl Aria May at 3:22 a.m. at Hartford Hospital. Bridgeport Hospital’s first baby of the year was born at 1:20 a.m.
