Farmington Firefighters Battle Blaze in Unionville

FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington firefighters made quick work of a blaze at a local home Thursday.

Initial reports came in as a chimney fire at 10:28 p.m. at a home on Perry Street in the Unionville section of Farmington, fire officials said.

As firefighters entered the residence, they located an active fire in the living room on the first floor, leading to an "aggressive aggressive interior attack" that extinguished the fire, officials said.

The one resident home at the time was able to exit the home safely.

The Farmington Fire Marshal's Office is currently investigating origin and cause of the fire.
