Farmington Holiday Drives for Residents in Need
Farmington will host a toy drive and food drive this week to help local families in need.

Farmington Community Services (FCS) will host two events this week to help provide gifts and food to local families in need this holiday season.
On Friday, December 15th, the Farmington and West Hartford Police Departments will join forces with FCS for their annual collaborative toy drive at Toys ‘R’ Us in West Hartford from 9 am to 2 pm. Santa Claus will be on scene greeting children and shoppers with his helper, Sergeant Blue Santa, by his side. Together they help spread the spirit of the holidays and promote positive relationships with law enforcement.
All toys and gifts collected will benefit children and families in Farmington, Unionville and West Hartford.

The theme will shift to food on Sunday, December 17th, as FCS partners with Tunxis Hose and Farmington Fire Departments for the annual holiday food drives. The drives will take place simultaneously with Farmington Fire at Highland Park Market in Farmington and Tunxis Hose stationed at Stop & Shop in Unionville. From 10 am to 2 pm, the teams will collect donations and pack holiday meals for more than 120 families in Farmington and Unionville.
The FCS holiday programs serve over 200 families in town each year providing Thanksgiving and holiday meal baskets, as well as gifts for more than 170 local children. Many families are sponsored by generous organizations, business and individuals in town. The 120 meals gathered through the food drives will be delivered same day by Farmington CERT volunteers.
