Farmington Man Charged On Sex Assault Warrants Still In Custody

FARMINGTON, CT — A man picked up by Farmington police on two sexual assault warrants last week remained in custody Tuesday on a pair of $50,000 bonds, according to judicial system records.

Jared Garand, 31, of the Unionville section of Farmington, was arrested on Sept. 14, police records show. Both cases date back to 2019, according to arrest reports.

One one warrant, Garand was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a child and fourth-degree sexual assault. His initial bond of $40,000 was increased by $10,000 in court, records show.

He was charged with the same crimes on a second warrant that carried a $100,000 bond, a report shows. That bond was cut in half, case records indicate.

Police have not released the details of the case, citing victim privacy laws.
