Farmington Obituary: William Machuga, 88
William was employed at Petroleum Meter and Pump in Avon for 50+ years retiring in 2007.

William D. Machuga, 88, of Unionville, beloved husband of June M. Machuga, passed away peacefully Friday, November 16, 2018 surrounded by his family at home.
Born in Plainville on July 21st, 1930 son of the late John and Hazel (Jacques) Machuga, he was raised in Unionville and resided here his whole life. William was employed at Petroleum Meter and Pump in Avon for 50+ years retiring in 2007.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus Uncas Council 32 Unionville and enjoyed being a member of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea choir for many years. He has many fond childhood memories of summers spent on the Machuga farm in Torrington.

Besides his beloved wife June, he leaves his children Patricia A. Wojtilla, Donna M. Harvey and her husband Rus, Susan Grotts and her husband Joe, Martin J. Machuga and his wife Darcy and Daniel F. Machuga and his wife Wendy and Joseph M. Deraleau whom they raised as their son. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son in law Steven J. Wojtilla, his brothers John Machuga and Joseph Howland and sisters Mary Marek, Margaret Kerr and Jean Thebarge.
Friends and family may call at the Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Friday (Nov. 23) from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Saturday (Nov. 24) at 9:15 AM followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, 145 Main Street, Unionville at 10:00 AM. A private burial will be held at a later date.
