FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington's Tiki Task Force is staging a fundraiser to honor the memory of Jack Phelan, the late Farmington High School athletic director.
Senan Gorman of Farmington, started the Tiki Task Force amid the coronavirus pandemic. He started making Tikis that he would sell to raise money for hospitals, healthcare workers, food pantries and homeless shelters.
This past summer, after Phelan's passing, Senan and his Tiki Task Force, made up of Farmington High School students, created a statue for a raffle to benefit the Jack Phelan scholarship fund.

Gorman said, "It’s been an incredibly humbling journey and my family and I couldn't be
more grateful for the positive responses. We've had an opportunity to meet so many
wonderful people through this experience."
Many students from Farmington High School are Task Force members. They help with
collecting the logs, debarking, managing orders, keeping inventory and spreading the word
on social media.
