Fund Established for Farmington Family that Lost Everything in April Fire

Family's pet was lost as well.

A fund has been established to help one of the families displaced by a serious fire on Case Street on April 27.

Jack Wallace, a former fire chief for the Torringford Volunteer Fire Department, said his former daughter-in-law and his three grandsons — ages 15, 9 and 7 — lost everything they owned in the fire, including a family pet. The family did not have insurance.

"They are essentially starting from 'ground zero,'" Wallace said.

Individuals or organizations may make a donation to a fund established at the Farmington Bank.

Checks made payable to the "Dana Wallace Family Benefit Fund" may be send to check to Farmington Bank, 117 East Street, Plainville, CT 06062

Wallace said the fund was established by Dana Wallace's close friend Jessica Rich, who can be contacted with any questions at jessicalrich@sbcglobal.net.

The fire displaced three families from the residential building behind Joey Garlic's. About 35 firefighters from all Farmington fire stations were on scene to put out the flames.
