FARMINGTON, CT — This week's excursion to a Hidden gem in Hartford and Tolland counties takes us to the corner of a plaza in Farmington where, amid a cozy courtyard, we meet a restaurant serving up "new American" cuisine with a whole lot of fun attached to it.

Welcome to Fork & Fire at 838 Farmington Ave.

The building might be in a corner, but the food at Fork & Fire is prepared "from scratch" using a "no corners cut" method.

Fork & Fire also features a "modern wine selection," a rotating list of local craft beers on draft, and "signature cocktails."

Fork & Fire also has one of the most fun Facebook pages around, one full of lively posts.

Take this one from Feb. 16, for example:

Valentine's candy is 50% off this week. These wings are 50 cents this Wednesday. Basically you can be a real winner in many ways if you set your mind to it.
