Here's what's going on in town and the region today, Sept. 10. 

Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation-Emek Shalom is offering a high holiday service for curious and unaffiliated area residents this evening at 7 in Simsbury.

Farmington High School boys and girls cross country will race against Newington and Conard on Sept. 10 at Winding Trails in Farmington at 3:45 p.m.  On the same day, varsity field hockey will face Windsor at 3:45 p.m. 

Farmington Public Schools have announced that Farmington High School library specialist Martha Burr is the district's Teacher of the Year. 

TIAA-CREF will invest $203 million in an outpatient care building and parking garage being constructed at the UConn Health Center as part of the Bioscience Connecticut initiative.
