Macy's Backstage Ready To Open At Westfarms After Long Wait

WEST HARTFORD/FARMINGTON, CT — Macy's is set to expand its presence at the Westfarms shopping mall this weekend after a bit of a wait

It's a Macy's Backstage store and it is on tap for a Saturday opening at West Farms, company officials said this week.

Macy's actually began construction is January, but work stalled because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Backstage store will consist of about 16,000 feet of retail space on the first floor of the existing Macy's.

Some employees from the existing Macy's will be placed in the expansion store, according to the announcement.

Macy’s Backstage specializes in off-price clothing, handbags, housewares and cosmetics.

Macy’s Backstage already has locations in the Buckland Hills retail district in Manchester, the Brass Mill Center in Waterbury, the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford, the Danbury Fair mall and the Stamford Town Center.
