Portion of Busy Farmington Street Closed For Tree Removal: UPDATE

An emergency tree removal necessitated closure of the road for several hours, police said.

FARMINGTON, CT — Emergency tree removal work on Waterville Road was completed around 4:30 p.m., and the roadway was re-opened, police said.

FARMINGTON, CT — A portion of Waterville Road, or Route 10, in Farmington will be closed between Farmington Avenue, or Route 4, and Aqueduct Lane on Wednesday, beginning around 3:30 p.m. due to an emergency tree removal, police said.

The hard closure will be at 131 Waterville Road, and access will be permitted to residents only. Southbound motorists should utilize Talcott Notch Road as a detour, and northbound motorists should utilize Town Farm Road as a detour around the area. Officers and signage will be in place to assist motorists, police said.

The closure is expected to last until about 7 p.m., police said.
