Rapper 50 Cent has filed for federal bankruptcy protection after losing a lawsuit, reports the Hartford Courant.
Curtis Jackson III was recently ordered to pay $5 million, after he lost lawsuit brought because he posted a sex tape that was given to him by the man in the tape.

50 Cent appeared before the video and made crude remarks and taunted a rap rival who had a child with the woman in the tape.

The rapper and actor has said that he owes more than $10 million to creditors.
50 Cent owns a nearly 50,000 square foot mansion in Farmington that he has repeatedly tried to sell. He purchased it from Mike Tyson in 2003.
