Relay For Life of Farmington Valley to Hold "Rolling Relay Rally"
Cancer Doesn't Stop and Neither Do We

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the previously scheduled in-person Relay For Life of Farmington Valley, set to take place on Saturday May 16 – Sunday, May 17, has been postponed to Saturday, September 12. However, volunteers, survivors, and participants are holding a “Rolling Relay Rally” this Saturday, May 16 (the originally scheduled event date) beginning at 3PM at Farmington High School to remind the Farmington Valley community that cancer doesn’t stop and neither do we.
“It is amazing and impressive that under these difficult conditions, we have 192 teams registered, 600 registered participants, 10 sponsors, and have raised $80,000 to date.” said Dr. Harvey Dutil, with the Relay For Life of Farmington Valley. “During this difficult time, cancer hasn’t stopped, and neither will we. Relay For Life is all about togetherness, but the safety of our patients, survivors, volunteers and staff is always a top priority. We stand together in this fight, even when we are apart.”
This socially distant event will celebrate cancer survivors and caregivers, remember those who have passed away from the disease and to empower the community to continue the fight against cancer. The safety of those involved is held to the highest priority which is why the all participants will remain in their vehicles and all state recommended social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Money raised through the Relay For Life enables the American Cancer Society to help cancer patients, a population vulnerable to COVID-19, to navigate their cancer journey during a pandemic. The Society offers advice on coping with cancer treatment side effects, answers questions about health insurance and so much more. Donations fund a round-the-clock toll-free helpline, 800-227-2345, and live chat at cancer.org; support research into cancer’s causes, cures and treatments; and promote education to reduce the risk of a diagnosis and to detect cancer as early as possible.
