Storm Leads to Downed Wires, Road Closures In Farmington
Police are advising motorists to avoid the areas affected by the overnight storm.
FARMINGTON, CT — Downed wires brought on by an overnight storm accompanied by high winds has caused more than a half-dozen road closures in Farmington.
According to police, the following roads are closed due to down wires:
- River Rd. between Burlington Rd. and Hemlock Notch St.
- Meadow Rd. between Red Oak Hill Rd. and Garden St.
- Mountain Spring Rd. between Farmington Ave, and Talcott Notch Rd.
- Portage Crossing near Plainville Ave.
- Coppermine Rd. between Red Oak Hill Rd. and Horseshoe Ln.
- Girard Ave. at Town Farm Rd.
- Talcott Notch Rd. between Talcott Forest Rd. and Route 4
Police are uncertain when the roads will reopen, and advise motorists to avoid those areas.
