Tampering Charges Added To Farmington Man's Child Alcohol Case

FARMINGTON, CT — A 40-year-old Farmington resident accused of hosting parties at which alcohol and "drugs" were served to minors is now facing witness and evidence tampering charges.

David Olivo was served two warrants at The Hartford Correctional Center this week, police said Thursday. He is locked up there on cases involving four warrants that carry bonds totaling $805,000, judicial system records show.

One of the warrants served Wednesday charges him with tampering with physical evidence, the use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, according to an arrest report. A $100,000 bond came with the charges, records show.

A second warrant, also with a $100,000 bond, charges Olivo with witness tampering.

He is due to answer the charges during a June 8 court appearance.

His other cases include:

• Seven counts of risk of injury to a minor and a single count of permitting a minor to possess alcohol ($350,000 bond)
• Permitting a minor to possess alcohol and risk of injury to a minor ($350,000 bond)
• Fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor ($100,000 bond)
• Three counts of risk of injury to a child ($5,000 bond)

Olivo is accused of hosting parties at his Farmington residence during which he hosted youths "under the age of 16," according to warrants.

Warrants also say detectives determined that Olivo was, "providing alcohol and drugs to the youths."

After what police called an "extensive investigation," detectives identified "no less than eight" juveniles who were "impacted by the activities occurring at the residence," warrants claim.
