Tunxis Hose Company No. 1 Celebration Set for Thursday

Tunxis Hose Company No. 1 of the Unionville Fire Department will be holding its 122nd Anniversary Firemen’s Carnival and Jamboree from Thursday through Saturday at the Union School Grounds.

Thursday night is family night with discounted ride tickets and the summer concert series featuring a Creedence/Fogerty tribute band playing on the carnival grounds. The band will begin at 7 p.m.

Returning again this year on Friday night will be a live broadcast by Radio 104.1, sponsored by The Olive Bar. Friday night features a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday night kicks off with a firemen’s parade that will include numerous fire companies and marching bands. The parade steps off at 6 p.m.

The carnival grounds will open each night at 6 p.m.

In conjunction with the carnival, there will also be a raffle with great prizes.

The winners will receive:

• 1st : 42” John Deere X300 Riding Lawn Tractor From Farmington Valley Equipment
• 2nd $500 Gift Certificate Redeemable at Tower Energy (Oil, Propane, Service, etc.)
• 3rd: $300 Gift Certificate Redeemable at Farmington Jewelers
• 4th: $250 Gift Certificate Redeemable at Sanford & Hawley
• 5th: $100 Gift Certificate Redeemable at Parson’s Hardware

Raffle tickets will be available each night of the carnival with the drawing to be held on July 11 at 9 p.m. on the carnival grounds. Winners do not need to be present to win.
