Tunxis Hosts Virtual Meeting with CT Legislators
College shares latest on college initiatives to meet student and workforce needs.

Tunxis Community College shared college updates with area legislators during a virtual discussion on March 17.
State Reps. Mike Demicco (D-21), Tammy Exum (D-19), Jillian Gilchrest (D-18) and Christopher Ziogas (D-79), joined in the college’s videoconference to hear from Tunxis students and officials who shared the latest on college initiatives and how Tunxis is expanding its educational offerings and services to meet student and workforce needs.
The discussion with legislators included topics on success and equity initiatives, the impact of COVID-19 on the college and students, new academic programs, plans for an Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, effective strategies in online teaching practices, and updates from Tunxis Foundation and Connecticut State Colleges & Universities leadership.
