Where Did Farmington's Ancestors Come From?

An analysis by the Connecticut Mirror broke down ancestry by town.

Italy is the predominant country of ancestry in Connecticut, according to an analysis of the American Community Survey by the Connecticut Mirror and TrendCT.

According to the analysis, 18.8 percent of Connecticut residents say their ancestors arrived from Italy, followed closely by Ireland with 16 percent of residents having Irish roots. Germany and English are a distant third and fourth.

In Farmington, the predominant country of ancestry is Ireland, with 17.59 percent of residents having Irish roots.
