A New Officer Joins the Force in Granby
Jeffrey Murphy is a University of Connecticut graduate and served in law enforcement with the Coast Guard.
On Monday, June 24, Jeffrey Murphy was sworn in as a Granby Police Officer during a ceremony at the Granby Police Department.
Officer Murphy has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Connecticut. He is a U.S. Coast Guard law enforcement veteran. He has attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. As a member of the Coast Guard, he has served as a boarding officer and law enforcement instructor. He has been trained in firearms and as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Officer Murphy is the oldest of five children. He lives in Unionville and is engaged to be married later this year to Annette Perzan, the director of business development at Grace Machine Company in Berlin.

Officer Murphy will attend the Connecticut Police Academy beginning next week. The police academy is a 26-week full time intensive training program to prepare new officers for a police career.
