East Granby Board of Assessment Appeals Outlines Process

Form must be submitted by Feb. 20.

The Board of Assessment Appeals will meet during the month of  March for the purpose of hearing appeals from individuals or organizations claiming to be aggrieved by the actions of the town assessor on the  2012 Grand List.

 Appeals are heard by appointment only. Appeals must be submitted in writing on a prescribed form available from the assessor’s office. This form must be returned to the Board of Assessment appeals by Feb. 20, 2013. Please call the Assessor’s Office to be sure the form has been received if it was mailed. The board is not responsible for forms that might become “lost” in the mail.

 Taxpayers who have filed a written appeal will be notified by March 1st of the date, time and place of the hearing. Notification will be mailed regular post.  Please call this office to confirm your appointment or if you have not received a hearing date.
