Body Found, Search Stopped For Missing Hiker

EAST GRANBY, CT — The search has ended for missing hiker Trevor French, 58, after the body of a man was found in the search area, according to State Police.

Police aren't able to confirm the the deceased as French until an autopsy is completed, said Trooper First Class Tanya Compagnone, State Police spokesman. The autopsy will likely be finished Wednesday.

State Police will provide more details once the Medical Examiner's office completes the autopsy.

French told a family member he was going on the hike Monday afternoon. The family member called police after a couple hours passed with no word from French, according to the Hartford Courant.
