East Granby Will Conduct Budget Referendum Recount on May 28; Public Invited
State-mandated procedure will take place at 9 a.m. at the Senior and Community Center.

A message from East Granby First Selectman Jim Hayden:
The East Granby Annual Budget Referendum was held on May 22. The results were as follows: 1332 residents cast their vote with 667 voting for the budget and 663 voting against the budget as presented.
Consequently, the budget is passed by a four vote margin. However, by Connecticut State Statute, anytime that vote totals have less than one half of 1 percent difference, there is an automatic recount.Â
Election officials will hold the recount at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at the East Granby Senior and Community Center. The recount process is open to those residents who would like to observe the process.
